It rained this week, so obviously we turned the living room into a beach. We are itching for hot summer days. After having a taste of a few warm, sunny days, the anxiety of waiting for my favorite season almost kills me. I need to remember to look to my boys when I’m feeling frustrated. They seem to take change in stride. Their moto is when life hands you lemons – make lemonade. And, when you wish you were drinking lemonade on a beach but no longer live near one – make a beach in your living room.

Will wanted to pose for me and these are the looks I got. I have two very dramatic children. Charlie is very theatrical, and Will…Will is dramatic. When he is happy, he is HAPPY, and when is angry, he is ANGRY. He doesn’t make life easy, but he’s so worth it. And at the end of the day, he teaches me a lot about myself. It’s true what they say – nothing worth having comes easily.
You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
-Alanis Morissette
This last image fits my baby perfectly. He can be the sweetest little boy you’ll ever meet, but he has a dark side that loves to scream, “I do it, Mommy!” He is tenacious and strong willed. In many ways, he’s a perfect reflection of my personality – the good, the bad, and the ugly. I get him, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
