For a short time every spring, the tree in my front yard blooms in the most amazing, sweet smelling flowers. It makes me ridiculously happy. The sight, the smell, the weather turning warmer – it’s just perfect. I’ve always loved trees. I get a wonderful sense of presence when I’m looking at them. This little tree with the gorgeous white blossoms just might be my favorite.
I so look forward to seeing it bloom every spring. During the summer, I watch birds while I do the dishes. Its leaves give way to red berries in the fall. And, when the weather turns cold, the frost covered branches are stunning against a crisp, blue sky. It handles change with beauty and grace, and while it has weathered many storms, it still stands tall. There are life lessons to be learned from the beautiful tree I watch out my kitchen window.
