In true November fashion, I will be writing about what I’m thankful for this month. (Just for the record, I do not think you should wait for November to focus on gratitude – much like you should not only give your wife flowers on Valentines day.)

This week I want to say a special “Thank you!” to the challenges that life throws at us. I had to be off my feet for a couple days early in the week – doctor’s orders. I’m not very good at taking it easy, especially during my busiest time of the year. Physically, it was nice to take a nap in the middle of the day, but mentally, it was driving me nuts. I don’t like being out of my routine and watching others take care of my family. However, it gave me time to appreciate my support system.

My husband is amazing, and he really is the backbone of our family. I would not be able to do what I do without him. My mom is always there for me without me even having to ask. There aren’t words to thank her enough for everything she is. I am also so incredibly fortunate for family and a wonderful group of friends that care about me. They offer support, kind words, and a helping hand when I need it the most.

Be thankful for the hard times. Without the bad, we wouldn’t truly appreciate the good. Dark times highlight the important people in our life, and these people are the silver lining of every difficult situation
